What types of items did you end up auctioning off? How did you go about gathering the auction items. This is a very interesting idea.
Thanks

We auction off items that kids want... mp3 players, digital cameras, hats, basketballs, volleyballs, soccer balls... food, soda, candy... chess sets, wacky lamps, movie passes, gift certificates...

We use the funds generated by the all school fundraiser at the beginning of the year. All of the money is raised by students and we use it directly for the auction items at the end of the year. Basically we get a Purchase Order for Target and the movie theatre and use carts and carts and carts to fill up with goodies. We usually buy up $500-$600 worth of 'stuff' to be auctioned off.

Has anyone tried the game BUX? After two or three games, students will understand basic personal economic concepts and can be taught personal economics by referring situations in the game.

Has anyone tried the game BUX? Students who play this game get a first-person experience of personal economics. Once they are familiar with these concepts and the economic structure in which the concepts interact, the students will have a pre-understanding of personal economics, especially when reference is made to game situations.

B) Commodity money consists of objects that have value in and of themselves, but representative money makes use of objects because the holder can exchange them for something else of value

You know, When people talk about the cost of housing, often the only thing people talk about is the actual cost of the home they intend to buy. And often, one thing that many people note when they buy a home in one of the distant suburbs is that they can "get more home for the money" in a distant suburb vs living closer in.

What people don't usually count in the cost of owning a home is the higher transportation costs that are incurred when people live further away from jobs and entertainment options of course!

Interesting strategy!

Yes... it seems that the media is very biased to their own way of thinking and hasn't improved since you wrote this article.

Mmmm, looks absolutely delicious. I used to look forward to Caribbean black cake at weddings and other special events. Then I became a vegan, and that was the end of that. I'd love to sample this! Any chance you'd be willing to share the recipe? :)

Wow, your way of teaching is cool! The idea of teaching them how to save and manage money is clever! It's simple and creative! I'm sure that they have gained enough knowledge about the flows of money. Circulation of money is shown individually, and it's a great example to show the true flow of money in a country, or what we've termed as "Economics". I really do admire this teaching strategy. Other teachers out there can make this an inspiration for their lesson plans as well.

I'm interested in such offer,The sound quality in these podcasts is really poor. I feel bad about complaining about something that is free, but I think it is important.
